 Our Purpose

Encourage  Educate  Empower

 Our Mission

Our mission is in our name, "To help Grow and Inspire girls to become Responsible Leaders."

 Our Vision

Our vision is for at-risk and delinquent behaviors to be eliminated or minimized among girls between the ages of 12-17, who are currently involved in the juvenile justice system or exhibiting behaviors that can ultimately lead them down that path.

Statistics

According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention(OJJDP), today nearly 30 percent of juveniles arrested are girls or young women, and their share of arrests, detainment, and court cases has steadily increased over the past two decades. Their offenses are typically non-violent. However, their involvement in the juvenile justice system usually does more harm than good. This is why it is vital that more programs and resources are made available to assist with either prevention or reduction in the recidivism rate among at-risk girls.

G.I.R.L. Mentoring's goal is to help restore hope in these girls lives. It is our desire that they are encouraged, empowered and inspired to learn and grow from their past unhealthy choices. We want them to believe that their current circumstance is not a life sentence, but a learning experience. Introducing and exposing them to new possibilities can help rebuild their confidence, allowing them to focus on reachable goals, making positive changes and doing the hard work to turn their aspirations into reality. It is essential that our girls are continuously reminded that they are worthy of having a bright future as responsible leaders, in spite of any adversities.
